I first picked up a camera when he was 5 years old. Inspired by films like Bang Bang Club, Salvador, The Killing Fields and magazines like LIFE magazine, my dream, was to be a photojournalist. In 1995 I apprenticed as a News Editor and Environmental Correspondent for The European Newspaper for a year working in French, Spanish and Italian.
For 17 years I have intermittently freelanced as a travel journalist and photographer for UK and international magazines and newspapers. My work is a window into my gypsy soul. A kaleidoscope of vitality, spirit, colour, light, humanity and good vibrations. In 2005 I founded creative communications agency, LDR LONDON, in Soho where I continue to work as a Creative Director of sorts.
I was born in Yorkshire, England, in 1970. I grew up on the cliffs of North Devon for 25 years blessed with 18 mile views of the wild and windy Atlantic Ocean. I am a traveller, adventurer and passionate about the Natural World.
I am the second youngest in a family of 6. My English mother is an artist and my blue-blooded Franco-Austrian father raised playing inside the fading ramshackle estates of Bohemia. Both are sport and animal lovers.
I have an identical twin, Pippi, who is my soulmate and lives in Sydney. We are both surfers and share a deep connection with the sea, wilderness and wildlife. My sister Anuschka is an Emmy nominated Producer Director for the BBC Natural History Unit making award winning wildlife documentaries for nearly 2 decades and travelling to the distant corners of our spectacular blue and green marble. My eldest brother Niko has lived in the mountains for 30 years between New Zealand and Switzerland skiing virgin powder.
We are a very close family, and they are all a source of inspiration and all continue to be a strong influence in my life.
For now, I am based in London.
